In the artist’s words: Describe one of your earliest musical memories in detail. When I was 6, my teacher played us a piece of Tchaikovsky. Then Mozart. I'd never heard anything like it. Stories came to life in my brain as the music played and I closed my eyes and felt like I left the planet behind. Music still does that for me. What are your top 3 all-time favorite albums on Apple Music, and why? Why did you choose these three albums in particular? Alicia Keys, Songs In A Minor Carole King, Tapestry Ella Fitzgerald, Ella Fitzgerald: Gold Alicia Keys first LP was the first album I ever owned. I learned it all on the keys from start to finish, obsessively. Carole King's Tapestry is a masterclass in songwriting. And Ella Fitzgerald is my hands down favourite vocalist of all time. Tell us why you chose this song. “Drum” She's the opener to my new project 'Players' (songs inspired by different Shakespeare characters). Based on the 3 Witches of Macbeth, it's a big anthemic scream that we're all going to die one day so you might as well "Bang a drum!" Do the thing. What’s one of the most memorable moments in your career so far? When I put my 1st song out as an artist with no following, no team and no idea what I was doing, TAYLOR SWIFT posted about my song 'Sleep On It' after finding it on Apple New Music. She changed my lil life. And reminded me to just... put it out! See! Is there anything left on your bucket list as an artist or band? SO MUCH. I want to release my debut album 'Players' soon. I have a second album ready to drop too. And in the meantime I would like to have an intimate NYC residency (the city I live) so I can start getting to know my fans (friends) face to face.
