This Brooklyn glitch-pop quartet got their start playing shows in Brooklyn’s underground and DIY warehouse scene in the summer of 2011 before moving up to open shows for Mac Demarco, Magic Man, and Oberhofer. Their self-titled debut album lets listeners outside of Brooklyn experience their intense brand of synth-pop. Mixed by Chris Coady (Beach House, Future Islands) and mastered by Greg Calbi (Passion Pit, St. Vincent), the album highlights an intensity that’s both manic (“Weird Luck”) and melodic (“Strange Obsession”), driven by the earnest, sincere vocals of Mike McKeever, who sounds like Ben Gibbard’s first cousin.
