“No one’s safe, better brace for the landfall!” Wage War vocalist Briton Bond’s exhortation on the opening track of Landfall sets the tone for the band’s sixth album. Recorded back-to-back with the IT CALLS ME BY NAME EP that they released in April 2026, both projects were tracked with vocalist/guitarist Cody Quistad in the producer’s chair for the first time. The result is a self-contained work that sees the Floridian metalcore crew incorporating their myriad influences—everything from Korn and Cannibal Corpse to EDM and pop—into a thoroughly modern and genre-blending album. Thematically, Wage War touches upon broken relationships (“Figure 8”), metaphorical and literal storms (“Landfall”), and even offer up what might be their first love song (“Stay with Me”).
