One of our favorite evangelists of the continent’s far-reaching musical ingenuity is the UK’s DJames, a Red Bull 3Style UK Champion, worldwide touring DJ, radio host, and producer. For his Africa Now mix, DJames prioritized musical boundary-pushers, artists like Al Xapo and Benzoo, Olamide, Tiwa Savage, DJ Maphorisa, and Asake, all of whom keep us on the edge our seats waiting for their next move. “I chose artists I’m really excited about, many of whom I’ve had the pleasure to meet and work with over the years,” DJames says. “I wanted to represent the diversity across the continent by showcasing music from multiple countries and genres. There are young producers and artists creating new genres and sounds every week.
