Desde El Corazón

Desde El Corazón

A lushly arranged, romantic set from the veteran ensemble. A beloved and enduring figure for a decade and a half, La Trakalosa de Monterrey has enjoyed considerable success and charting hits during the group’s tenure under the wing of bandleader Edwin Luna. Heartfelt vocal performances combined with lush, intricate orchestration remains key to the sizable ensemble’s potency with banda and norteño songcraft, as evidenced on acclaimed albums such as Me Hiciste un Borracho and their latest, Desde El Corazón. Rich arrangements define every track here, from the emotional build up of wounded opener “Antes De Tiempo” to the satisfying swing of “Perdón Por El Antojo.” As befitting the album’s title, there’s a romantic streak present throughout, albeit not entirely defined by any singular definition of love. “Tiempos Felices” offers a wistfully nostalgic take that rejects the trappings of fame and fortune while pining for the meaningfulness of a family-oriented upbringing, while the somewhat brusque single “Ganar Ganar” is nonetheless refreshingly up-front with its intentions.
