The South London singer-songwriter performs live from our LA studios. “I wanna take you on a little ride/I wanna make you feel so nice”: Those are the opening lines of Lola Young’s “One Thing,” as well as the first words she sang during her inaugural Music Room set, which was recorded live in Apple Music’s Los Angeles studios in 2026. The single, off her 2025 full-length I’m Only F**king Myself, places the South London singer-songwriter in a certain sultry setting, but the lyrics work in an entirely different context for this intimate, vulnerable performance over the course of 10 songs. The arrangements are more stripped-down than her previously released versions, with acoustic guitar complementing “d£aler,” moody synths enhancing the emotional undercurrent of “CAN WE IGNORE IT? :(,” and the heartache of “Post Sex Clarity” coming through loud and clear in Young’s tortured (but still stunning) vocals.
