Thirty-two years after the Dolls’ second album, surviving members David Johansen and Sylvain Sylvain come strutting back as though Nixon were still in office and bell bottoms still in fashion. The sound is cleaner but the old snarl remains: “Fishnets & Cigarettes” pays tribute to the bygone menace of ‘70s New York, and Johansen is sleaze personified on the down-and-dirty “Dance Like a Monkey.” The glam lifers wear their hearts on their glittery sleeves on “We’re All in Love,” an ode to rock ‘n’ roll itself.
