The UK band channels vintage NYC hardcore and ’90s metal. From the moment vocalist Jay Valentine yells, “Go!” on beefy opener “One by One,” Guilt Trip leaves no doubt about their musical bloodlines. The Manchester hardcore squad may hail from the UK, but their roots are fully American. Injecting the tough-guy tradition of NYC hardcore stalwarts Madball, Sick Of It All, and Biohazard with the razor-edge guitar tones of ’90s metal kingpins Pantera, Guilt Trip stomps their way through floor-punching blasts “Cut from God,” “Angel Eyes,” and the Machine Head-inspired “Burn.” They turn up the metal even further on “Resurrected,” which features guest vocals from P.O.D.’s Sonny Sandoval.
