Tamil crime thriller Sirai is moving and powerful, so it’s fitting its soundtrack mirrors the movie’s heart so well. Directed by Suresh-Rajakumari, the film focuses on prison, injustice and the strength of the human spirit, with plenty of tense and romantic moments woven in. South Indian composer Justin Prabhakaran underscores the drama with four understated tracks. Sooraj Santhosh and Chinmayi Sripada build anticipation on their duet “Neelothi”, while the pull between hope and despair pervades “Kanne Kalangadha”. In contrast, “Minnu Vattaam Poochi” and “Mannichiru” boast poppy ballad vibes.
