THE SIN : VANISH

K-pop septet ENHYPEN has dabbled in a vampire concept since their 2020 debut, but their 2026 mini album THE SIN : VANISH embraces the supernatural lore on a deeper level in its angsty tale of fugitive lovers living in a society where humans and vampires co-exist. “Fate sometimes leads us down dangerous paths from which there is no turning back,” the 11-track album begins on “The Beginning,” a spoken-word track co-composed by 23-year-old member Jake. From there, the album unfolds in the format of an investigative journalism program across six songs, four spoken-word narrations, and one skit. While THE SIN : VANISH’s narration tracks provide the backbone of the album’s story, the musical tracks provide the emotion. So!YoON!, of indie rock band SE SO NEON, layers her romantic-grunge vocals on the dreamy “No Way Back,” giving insight into the interiority of a vampire who chooses a life on the run over heartbreak. Hip-hop lead single “Knife” references Bonnie and Clyde in its sharp, trap-driven taunt that pursuit is pointless. Members Heeseung and Jake were both co-writers on the sleek R&B track “Sleep Tight,” which offers the album’s fictional lovers a short respite from their sorrows.
