PlaqueBoyMax is ready to admit that he’s had a more productive 2025 than most. After releasing his debut EP LONDON in March, followed by ATLANTA and Five Forever in May, he wrapped things up with one last gift. Too Much Music is perhaps an admission that Max has more songs ready to share than even his most avid supporters can consume, but there’s plenty to like on the seven-track EP. The playful, buoyant “InstaHoes” bounces with classic ATL trap drums and skittering synths that continue the New Jersey-born rapper, producer, and internet personality’s obsession with the post-Carti landscape. More impressive than the beat, though, is the way Max uses his voice as another instrument, flipping between flows and singing styles to cook up something unpredictable and dynamic. He taps into alt-rock on the lovesick album closer “FellOff,” which finds Max admitting, “Honestly, I miss you, and I hate that we fell off.”
