Almost like a kind of inverted spoiler, “tranqui, te puedes enamorar,” the closing track of LA CIUDAD, lays bare without detours, and perhaps not without intention, the soul behind Alleh and Yorghaki’s collaborative album: “Si me dejas, yo te puedo enseñar/Lo rico que se siente caminar/Pegaítos en la orilla del mar.” That state of mind guides the 30 minutes that come before it, a Caribbean-coded meditation on love that moves through ideas of time and space. The Venezuelan duo, who began their first musical experiments together in 2024, continue the trajectory set by their initial hit, “capaz (merengueton),” and amplify it to the next level on a record where tropical vibes remain intact and there is no real pause between tracks. Between seagulls and crashing waves, both artists make it clear that from their union emerges a clearer way of understanding love, one that offers answers and allows refuge to be found in its certainty.
