Alabama-bred artist Yung Bleu has always straddled the line between rap and R&B, infusing his sultry jams with hardened bars about grinding, and lacing his verbose, streetwise rhymes with melodic riches. On THERAPY, he ditches most elements of his gritty, detail-rich rap style, instead moving things to other favorite topics: love, sex, and relationships. “Drunk Sex” finds Bleu reckoning with the emotions that only seem to arise after finding his partner four shots deep, while “You Nasty” revels in the most intimate details of a particularly physical relationship. On “Forbidden Fruit,” the singer showcases his skill with metaphor, leaving very, very little to the imagination. Despite the raunchiness that imbues most of his sexual forays, Yung Bleu still allows himself the opportunity to love as much as he lusts. On “Feelings,” he describes his carnal desires before he almost sheepishly admits, “Girl, you keep me up in my feelings.”
