Bloodbathh Vol. 2: Violate We Demonstrate

If the horror-doll-inspired name wasn’t enough to prove Chuckyy’s gory bona fides, one need not look further than his Halloween mixtape series Bloodbathh. The first iteration from the Chicago-born post-drill rapper emerged in time for the holiday in 2024, and its sequel dropped exactly one year after. Bloodbathh Vol. 2: Violate We Demonstrate ups the ante, keeping on theme with the concept while featuring some of the most expansive ideas from Chuckyy to date. Here, maturing means using all the signifiers of Halloween as a jumping-off point rather than a strict guideline. On “MVP,” Chuckyy raps over a barely-there vocal chop and a haunting piano note that only comes in every four bars. Otherwise, it’s just the rapper battling one-on-one with the bass. “Kobe” features a loosely shaped instrumental built around weeping strings, allowing Chuckyy ample space to fire off some quotable bars—whether spooky, serious, or both.
