Lola Brooke’s laid relatively low since 2023—the year she signed a major-label deal, toured with A Boogie wit da Hoodie, and released her debut album Dennis Daughter. Two years later, she returns with iight bet!, a snarling seven-track EP that lives in the moment but draws from the heritage of her home turf. She channels the bluster of 2000s NYC on “Get Money” and brushes off a breakup on the sneering yet soulful “Pain.” And on the Biggie-referencing rags-to-riches number “It Was All a Dream,” she details the setbacks that led to her time off, then pushes past them: “Now I pay my mom’s bills off rap/From this day forward, I ain’t ever holding back.”
