“There’s a moody, almost jazzy feel to the start of this first autumn edition of Compiled & Mixed, with two versions of Odee X’s ‘Agent X’ setting the tone before the emotion gradually builds throughout the mix,” John Digweed tells Apple Music as he introduces his October 2025 selection. “I find there’s something about breaks and the time of the year when seasons change and the nights draw in that makes the music sound even more emotional, and I really think that comes through across all the tracks selected this month. “One highlight this month is Aubrey Fry’s interpretation of ‘The Road Back’ from Nick Stoynoff. I heard this one at the Balance festival in Croatia back in the summer and, of course, I’m a big fan of what Aubrey does, having released his music on my label, Bedrock. “Another track I really loved in this mix is FAFF.’s ‘A Few Good Days.’ The production on this one sounds like an early-’90s rave record—this could easily have been a record from The Sabres of Paradise or One Dove. The whole EP this was taken from is worth checking out. “Wrapping up is Kade B’s ‘Wasted.’ This one has got a really beautiful vocal and works well on the dance floor, but it’s equally a perfect sunset record too.
