In a global pop industry that churns through artists, BoA has withstood the sands of time. The first-generation K-pop queen debuted in 2000 as a 13-year-old. While her single “ID;Peace B” was a hit in Korea, it would be her entrance into the Japanese market, and 2002’s Listen to My Heart truly set the teen singer on a path to superstardom. Some of the Korean singer’s biggest hits over the first few decades of her career include “No.1,” “Listen to My Heart,” “Only One,” “Masayume chasing,” and “Better.” In 2025, BoA released Crazier, an 11-track album celebrating her 25th anniversary as a singer. The album’s title track, a self-empowerment rock anthem, leans into the artist’s confidence as a K-pop industry veteran at the tender age of 38: “It’s a crazy world/I’ve seen it all/But guess what?/I’m crazier.” “Crazier” is one of three self-composed tracks on the album. BoA also led the writing and composition for “It Takes Two,” a pop-R&B track about a burning summer love, and “How Could,” a wistful breakup track centering the interplay between BoA’s expressive vocals and an acoustic guitar. Elsewhere on the album, BoA gets the chance to stretch her vocals on emotional ballads, including album-ender “Clockwise,” a tribute to the singer’s loyal fandom, Jumping BoA.
