Punjabi singer and actor Ranjit Bawa gets a little help from his friends on Proud Jawani. He’s joined by the Desi Crew brothers and dynamic producer Bunty Bains—all hitmakers in their own right—across the EP’s four heartfelt, diverse tunes. The title track features Bawa’s bellowing vocals over dance-floor-destined basslines and beats, while love song “Follow” is anchored by a moving acoustic guitar melody. Traditional Punjabi folk elements are kneaded into the dance and rock on “Koka Gaani”, and an old-fashioned romance is laid bare on “Rumal Reshmi”. Truly, there’s a song for every mood.
