Arriving seven years after he grabbed axe aficionados’ attention with his stellar debut album The Emerging, progressive rock guitarist and composer Sutej Singh’s second full-length effort Restless | Relentless is the work of a man refreshed and ready to take it to the next level. The Petrucci and Pink Floyd-recalling cinematic sound is very much present but there’s also evidence of an artist determined to make a mark of his own, as on the sublime Indian classical-fusing lead single “Kaadambari” and the emotive title track. This is a record that’s as visceral as it is virtuosic.
