The year is 2006, and Erol Alkan is in the DJ booth at Bugged Out, the night that championed eclectic sounds and unexpected dance-floor joy. “My residency for Bugged Out took place at The End in London,” Alkan tells Apple Music. “These sets were a testing ground for new music, so whilst the tracklist may look familiar, at the time of this recording, many of them were barely even released, as well as a couple being exclusive versions which only I and the original producers had.” The result is a beautiful time capsule when glow sticks waved to tracks from newcomers Justice, Simian Mobile Disco, and Klaxons as well as Boney M. and Rage Against the Machine.
