In this special edition of our Early Hours mix series, Jai Wolf uses one of his favorite recent compositions, “Melancholy Ave. / God Only Knows (feat. SAYAK DAS)” from his 2024 album The Red Eye Home, as a center of gravity, anchoring the 10 other tracks that accompany it. “This is a linear-sounding, experimental journey that touches on themes of reflection and rumination,” says the Bangladeshi American producer, born Sajeeb Saha. “Each track breaks the traditional pop structure by asking the listener to be patient as it leads them on a personal journey.” He hopes listeners use this mix to reflect on 2024 (Kasbo’s “Resenären” and MYRNE’s “Close the Distance” are two of his favorites) and look toward 2025 “with a sense of optimism and hope.”
