In September 2024, John Digweed’s team shared that the veteran DJ and producer was “very ill” and had unfortunately been admitted to the hospital, leading him to cancel shows in Dallas, Mexico City, and Guadalajara. This mix—the 38th in Digweed’s Compiled & Mixed series for Apple Music—was made in the aftermath, and turned out to be one of the most special sets he’s delivered to date. “This was the first mix I put together after my unexpected hospital stay, and it’s one where the music just fell into place making it,” he tells Apple Music. “One of my favorite editions of Compiled & Mixed so far.” His personal highlights here include a fresh drop from Raxon (“Spaceport”), Paul Roux’s remix of Madben’s “That Ending Track,” and Bedrock’s “Heaven Scent,” newly remixed by Eagles & Butterflies. “This one definitely turns up the emotion,” says Digweed.
