From the end of 2023 to the autumn of 2024, Punjabi singing star Nirvair Pannu took the unusual route of focusing on albums over singles—but he’s made sure to keep the LPs coming. MAJESTIC is his third full-length over that time and as ever the songs, made with regular composer-producer collaborators like Deol Harman, MXRCI and prodGK, flow freely from folk to pop to hip-hop. There are some real foot-tappers here, but Pannu’s ballads are the melodic highlights. In particular, his soulful vocals soar over “Sohneya” and “Video Call”—two bittersweet laments of longing and separation.
