Although he riffs on different musical styles (traphouse rap, head-banging hardcore, woozy reggaeton), Brooklyn MC Daniel Hernandez’s first release radiates pure, uncompromising punk. The Scumgang leader’s criminal past may be as colorful as his signature rainbow fronts, but the exhilarating energy of his throat-shredding delivery can’t be disputed. “RONDO” leavens that abrasive approach with a melodic Tory Lanez feature, “BUBA” brings a short, intense burst of snarling attitude and breakthrough track “GUMMO”—here in its original version and as an Offset-assisted remix—still packs anarchic, building-toppling power.
