On 2013's Miracle Mile, indie-pop band STRFKR capture the heavy-lidded haze and daze of after-hours mingling. It kicks off with groovy dance on the buoyant "While I'm Alive," a smooth, funky slice of disco-rock, and "Malmo," a bass-buzzing, synth-blooping whistle-along. The mood mellows as their dreamy harmonies liquefy in the built-up heat of hypnotic beats ("Beach Monster") and wobbly basslines ("Yayaya"). By "Nite Rite," the pulsating rhythms give in, too, melting into a blurry psychedelic fantasy.
