Wings were still a relatively unproven musical entity when they released their second album, so Paul McCartney pulled out all the stops to create a sumptuous suite of songs. His trademark ballads are limpid and aching (“My Love,” “Little Lamb Dragonfly”), and there’s a questing edge to his pop songs (“Get On the Right Thing”). His itch for musical quirks is thoroughly scratched by the weightless “Single Pigeon” and the low-slung funk and chants of “Loup (1st Indian On the Moon).”
