After Harmonium and Les Séguin—’70s Québécois bands famous for blending folk with art rock—disbanded, their respective leaders, Serge Fiori and Richard Séguin, came together for a duo album. The result brings elements of both bands to the table: shimmering acoustic guitar tapestries, dreamy vocal lines, and dashes of prog-rock flash are all present. But there’s a strong streak of ’70s pop, too, as the duo (backed by members of Harmonium) shifts between arty adventurousness and mainstream-minded melodic hooks on tunes like “Viens danser.”
