“I don’t want to lose the feeling,” frontman Oscar Lulu sings on Sundara Karma’s debut full-length. “I’ve searched so hard to find the meaning.” Few lines could make for a better introduction to this heavy-hearted English foursome. Drawing frequent comparisons to Arcade Fire and Bruce Springsteen (the resemblance is especially clear on the chiming "Olympia" and galloping "Deep Relief"), they deliver us-against-the-world epics, seeking salvation and escape—be it through romance, personal enlightenment, or, ideally, both.
