About Trevor Beales
Trevor Beales was an English guitarist and singer/songwriter from the rural Calder Valley in West Yorkshire. During his lifetime he was known, if at all, as guitarist and songwriter for the pop/rock band Havana Lake. They released a solitary album titled Concrete Valley for Look Records in 1977. Beales died suddenly in 1987 at age 33. In 2018, his widow Christine played his demo cassettes --recorded in his attic bedroom at his parents house over several years -- for childhood friend and fellow musician, John Armstrong. Impressed, he digitized the tapes, then sent them to a local instrument maker, who then passed them to indie label Basin Rock. Taken with the songs and Beales' guitar playing, tthey restored the demos and released them as Fireside Stories: Hebden Bridge Circa 1971-1974.
