In the artist’s words: Describe one of your earliest musical memories in detail. I remember being about 4 years old, clambering up onto the piano stool and playing the notes on the old beaten up family piano which had been painted white. My love of creating musical sound started there. What are your top 3 all-time favorite albums on Apple Music, and why? Why did you choose these three albums in particular? Jeff Lynne, Long Wave Ludovico Einaudi, Islands - Essential Einaudi The Beatles, Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band Einaudi takes me to an calm island I can escape to. Jeff Lynne is a wonderful songwriter but this delicate covers collection shows the beauty of his influences. My first listen of Sgt Peppers left me transfixed. Tell us why you chose this song. “Nocturne Op.72 No.1 Frederic Chopin” This is a short section of a most beautiful nocturne by Chopin. When I play it I can feel all the sadness and angst that he must have felt when he played it himself all those years ago. I feel it gives me a kind of connection to him.
