Until I wrote a song about a girl I liked and the tape got passed around school. Everyone heard it, including her mum, and it was mortifying. Joni Mitchell, The Hissing of Summer Lawns Silver Jews, American Water The Microphones, The Glow, Pt. 2 I'm fascinated by songwriters and, in particular, the way they use words. These three artists have starkly contrasting styles, but they all find ways to create volatile chemical reactions between music and words and never fail to burn the lab down.
