Yellow Days Essentials

The anguished, soulful voice of George van den Broek is a hugely expressive thing. Over a woozy musical backdrop of undulating, lo-fi funk, the artist known as Yellow Days screams and pleads like a man on the edge, telling longing tales of unrequited love. His teenage years in Surrey were spent making online demos riddled with wonky static, blues guitar, and his pre-seasoned old-man holler. He released his first single, the dreamlike and wobbly slow-jam “Your Hand Holding Mine,” in 2016, followed by a wayward trail of skewed tracks and then the intense kaleidoscope of 2017 debut album Is Everything Okay In Your World?
