Walter "Wolfman" Washington Essentials

New Orleans bluesman Walter “Wolfman” Washington spent the ’60s and ’70s working with legends like Lee Dorsey and Johnny Adams before he started recording as a frontman in the early ’80s. The Wolfman served up a singular, modernized sound that mixed the blues with funky grooves and a dash of Big Easy flavor. He was also beloved by true blues diehards for his guitar style, defined by his clean, cutting tone and tasty, less-is-more phrasing. He remained one of the Crescent City’s most respected ambassadors of the blues all the way up until his passing in 2022.
