Like their country contemporaries up north, Brazilian brothers Victor and Leo Chaves play mostly acoustic roots music with pop flair and the occasional screaming guitar solo. Victor, the earthier of the two, wrote the group's earliest hits, including "Fado" (Fairy) and "Vida Boa" (Simple Life), whose catchy choruses induce stadium-sized sing-alongs. Despite the duo's stripped-down version of sertanejo, accordions still sometimes add a touch of traditionalism, as on the wistful "Quando Você Sóme" (When You Disappear).
