The members of Torreblanca proudly describe their sound as “weird pop,” and it does have magical shapeshifting powers, transforming almost imperceptibly from cheerful, radio-ready pop/rock into sparse, ambient dreamscapes or ornate, piano-laced jazz. The Mexican band's 2011 debut Bella Época touted Café Tacvba's Quique Rangel as a producer, setting the stage for more playful experiments to come.
