The Stone Roses: Influences

The Stone Roses: Influences

The Stone Roses ruled Britannia for a few years in the late ‘80s/early ‘90s with their chorus-heavy, reverbed-out take on rock ‘n' roll. Ian Brown and company brought the swaggering riffs of Jimi Hendrix and Led Zeppelin to their arena-ready sound, but they also drew from the New Wave rhythms of New Order and the earth-shaking grooves of Funkadelic in the way their jams would unfold with an unhurried grace.
