The Road Hammers Essentials

Born out of the idea to create a concept album about 18-wheelers and the trucker life, The Road Hammers aptly pump some heavy muscle into their punchy Southern rock. At first, they modernized old country trucking songs like Jerry Reed’s “East Bound and Down,” pushing the speedometer with a fired-up take on the breakneck classic. They soon started producing originals, channelling Skynyrd on the sweeping “I’ve Got the Scars to Prove It” and getting low-down and greasy on the harp-honking “Mud.” They’ve even toyed with a banjo-powered dance vibe on the wild and revved-up “Give’r,” which lives up to its title—and then some.
