The Isley Brothers Essentials

The Isley Brothers Essentials

Founded in the mid-'50s by satin-voiced brothers Ronald, O'Kelly, and Rudolph, this GRAMMY®-winning group proved profoundly influential. Their ability to change with the times is unprecedented: their Top 40 hits straddle six decades, from the late '50s to the early '00s. After scoring a pair of doo-wop/R&B hits, they went chameleonic—first as Motown soul-poppers, then as psych-funk stars, and later, after expanding to include younger brother Ernie, as folk-rockers. They recorded a number of funk/dance favorites later in the '70s before hitting a stride with smooth soul.
