Tenille Townes Essentials

The gossamer country of Tenille Townes is a delightful, slow-cooked blend of confessional lyrics and evocative pop melodies. Born in Alberta, Canada, in 1994, Townes developed a love for country music riding in the family car. When she was nine, Shania Twain brought her on stage during a concert to perform a duet that all but sealed the aspiring singer's fate for musical glory. Following her angelic 2011 debut, Real, Townes headed to Nashville to hone her craft. She was signed in 2018 and released the single “Somebody's Daughter,” an anthemic blend of hooky country-pop and booming percussion that raced up the charts. Townes joined Miranda Lambert and Little Big Town on tour later that year, learning from the masters as her gravelly voiced charisma blossomed on subsequent records The Lemonade Stand (2020) and Masquerades (2022).
