To a generation of Russians, Tarakany! are the explosive result of a bold new era. Formed six months before the dissolution of the Soviet Union, their hedonistic punk sound coincided with huge social upheaval in Moscow, providing a raw, alternative soundtrack to an era of change. Decades later, their Ramones-inspired ruminations on sex, drugs and rock ‘n' roll remain as relevant as ever: early firecrackers like "Панк-рок песня" and later cuts like "Сила одного" both show off an equal amount of anarchic, trailblazing style.
