Sublime Essentials

Sublime Essentials

If there's one band who can be heralded as the reason for the resurgence of ska punk in the '90s, it's Sublime. Incorporating elements of reggae, dub, and hip-hop into their muscular sound, the eclectic Long Beach outfit rose to fame alongside the likes of Green Day, Rancid, and The Offspring during the decade's SoCal punk explosion. Years after the untimely death of lead singer Bradley Nowell, their three studio albums remain mainstays of the genre, with sales of over 17 million worldwide. In '09, the surviving members scored their first Top 10 LP when they reformed as Sublime With Rome.
