Sextets

A sextet is, of course, a piece written for a group of six musical instruments, but the variety of these ensembles is endless. Perhaps the most common is the string sextet, which usually includes two violins, two violas, and two cellos, offering a remarkably rich and flexible sound palette. This playlist includes the most notable sextets by Boccherini, Brahms, Dvořák, Tchaikovsky, Korngold, and Poulenc, plus a few other surprises.
