Bristol-born, London-based producer Otik (born Ashley Thomas) makes tunes that burrow deep into the amygdala. Whether he’s working with elements from techno, house, bass, or—as he does on his recent “Epiphania” three-tracker—drum ’n’ bass and trance, he manages to coax a well of emotions from his machines, tempering moody depths with euphoric highs.
