Seattle Symphony Essentials

Founded in 1903, the Seattle Symphony has seen countless blockbuster performances from conductors such as Thomas Beecham, Gerard Schwarz, and Ludovic Morlot. Thomas Dausgaard took over the orchestra as music director in 2019 after several years as guest conductor, and he has led the orchestra in crisp, powerful recordings of Carl Nielsen’s Third and Fourth Symphonies, as well as an ecstatic performance of Mahler’s unfinished Tenth. Schwarz made more than 100 recordings with Seattle, showing incredible depth and power (his Beethoven 9 is sublime), while Morlot's Ives (3 Places in New England) shimmers with iridescence.
