Radney Foster Essentials

Radney Foster found fame thanks to his smart, craftsman-like approach to country lyrics. He began performing as a college student before heading to Nashville to try his hand as a songwriter. After scoring a Top 10 hit for Sweethearts of the Rodeo, he teamed with fellow MTM Records staff writer Bill Lloyd to form the duo Foster and Lloyd, which had several hit singles before disbanding in 1990. Foster then went solo, enjoying exceptional success with his 1992 debut album and flirting with elements of pop, rock, and R&B in later releases.
