QLER, Bangkok’s smoky-voiced singer-songwriter, conjures synth-pop with a distinctly retro, ’80s-tinged flavour. He fills his songs with gorgeously glassy drum machines (“จีบ”) and synth washes (“ธันวาคม”) as well as wistful mid-tempo melodies. Meanwhile, “เเมรี่คิดมาก” explores a wonky sort of hip-hop jazz with its slinky chords and vinyl crackle, while “จีบ (Homie Session)” combines of ambient and trap styles. It’s all tied together by QLER’s personality and charisma.
