Pregador Luo is a Christian hip-hop trailblazer from São Paulo who has been releasing groundbreaking work since the mid-’90s. Through acclaimed albums with his crew Apocalipse 16, and solo work since the early ’00s, he raps the gospel over boom-bap beats with metal riffs, piano melodies, Brazilian funk and Jamaican dub motifs. His gravelly, low-pitched vox prevail in powerful homages to African heritage.
