Warren Zevon Essentials

In 1976, Warren Zevon's self-titled second album earned the respect of critics and contemporaries. His follow-up, Excitable Boy, lifted Zevon into the mainstream with sing-along stompers and hilariously cynical ballads dealing with outlaws, decapitated G-men, and Cold War fear. Over the years, Zevon has collaborated with artists like Bruce Springsteen and R.E.M. while releasing uncompromising singer/songwriter albums full of eclectic folky sides and towering anthems. His 12th and final album, 2003's GRAMMY®-winning The Wind, was released just weeks before his death from cancer.
