Monica Essentials

Monica was just 14 when she dropped her first album, Miss Thang. Despite her young years, the project showcased an unusually mature sound—helped no doubt by the touch of R&B super producer Dallas Austin. 1998's The Boy Is Mine continued the winning streak, headed up by a classic tag-team performance with fellow teen star Brandy that powered the project to triple platinum status. Over a decade later, Monica's dedication to the roots of soul music was confirmed with 2010's vintage sounding Still Standing.
