Pink Floyd: Deep Cuts

Pink Floyd: Deep Cuts

For a band synonymous with ambitious art rock, Pink Floyd sure could pen tunes that were moving in their simplicity. Early on, Syd Barrett's “Bike” is psych pop littered with nursery-rhyme poetry and twirls like a carousel ride, and “San Tropez” is tropical folk rock that could've been recorded by The Kinks. Late in their career David Gilmour picked up the thread, writing warm, emotionally direct pop-rock ballads like “Coming Back to Life.”
